ice

Every year in the winter (with the exception of 2020 for obvious reasons) The Gaylord Resort hosts the ice event where they have a huge interactive display made of, you guessed it, ice. The theme when we went was The Polar Express. It was incredibly fun and incredibly cold. The whole exhibit was made of ice sculptures of scenes from the movie, and they even had a very cool slide made of solid ice. Everyone had so much fun slipping and sliding. Here are a couple of pictures from inside the exhibit.

Once we walked all the way through, there was a huge room that you walked into with a bunch of activities: a ice skating rink, a mini build-a-bear station, a hot chocolate kiosk to warm yourself up after the 9 degrees that you have subjected yourself to, and of course, a big gift shop full of festive items to help remember your experience with. There were so many beautiful things to look at. I found a lovely crystal snowflake ornament. I was completely obsessed with how the light reflected off of it.

So that you can adorn your tree, or place in the window to catch the sunlight, here is the 2023 version of this crystal beauty.
