Change of Plans

In June of 2021 we were on our way to Florida for our summer vacation: drive to Panama City Beach for a couple days, Disney for a few more days, then on to either Baton Rouge or New Orleans, then back to Texas. The drive is a long one, but it's always fun. Lots to see on our route there! Well right when we were planning to go, there was going to be a tropical storm. So what we had decided to do was leave early to try and get ahead of the storm. Well, I guess that the storm-- Claudette-- decided to run ahead of schedule, and hit landfall earlier than expected. So, we ended up having to change our route. We went up through Georgia and back down to Florida. We never made it to Panama City Beach. Thank goodness for smart phones, I was able to make a reservation in Jacksonville for the night. To be able to get the beach time in that we were going to miss at PCB, we decided to detour to Daytona. We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel right on Daytona Beach. It was a whole lot of fun! It was a beautiful hotel, and I would love to stay there again sometime.

The first picture has signature on the bottom left from the cast members of the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning Show that I have been listening to since I moved here to Texas back in 1995. I remember listening to the show when the Hard Rock in Daytona first opened, and the cast from the show went down to Daytona.
