My Current Pet

In my last entry I shared a picture of the pet that I once had. In this post I'd like to introduce you to the current critter in my life. I have had a White's Tree Frog for a little over a year. His name is FroggyBoo, he's very bashful, and has a big love for crickets.

FroggyBoo is a fun little guy. Although he's nocturnal, I catch some of his froggy shenanigans. His routine when we're both awake is fairly simple: He descends from his favorite sleeping leaf, he goes and hangs out in this dish that I originally bought as a water bowl. I got sent the smaller size on mistake, but I decided to keep it and use it as a feeding dish, turns out that Mr. Boo loves his bowl. About every other day or so, I feed him. I give him crickets, and it's always fun to watch him catch them. I had no idea that becoming a frog mom meant becoming the mother of crickets too. Some people really hate dealing with crickets, but I don't have an issue with the jumpers. Then FroggyBoo goes to his water bowl and soaks. He tends to freak out when he sees me even though I'm the one that gives him crickets and I haven't lunged at him yet. As I said, he's pretty bashful, and I've only heard him croak only a handful of times. I follow a White's Tree Frog group on Facebook, and so many people have said that their frogs make noise all the time at any loud noise. Not FroggyBoo. When he does croak, I'm always super surprised, and whenever I go into the room to check it out, he immediately stops as soon as I set foot in the room.
