Taking it way back with this one

This picture was taken way before I had joined the world of smartphones. Yep, I was late to the smartphone game by a couple years: everyone around me had the latest iphone or android and here I am rocking my super cute motorola karma. I wish we had phones like that still. I took this photo with the canon powershot digital camera that I had at the time. The model that I had was from 2009, and can no longer be purchased new, however here is a newer model:

It was actually a really nice camera, but since the camera from 2009 doesn't work anymore, I now take all of my photos with my Samsung Galaxy, because yes, I do now live in the smartphone world with everyone else.

In the year was 2009. I was living in my first apartment. I had baked an apple butter pumpkin pie to take over to my parents' house later that day for Thanksgiving. I made this pie completely from scratch-- crust and all. I have a big passion for baking and cooking, and I pride myself of being on having such an extensive list of delicious things t

hat I can make. Once upon a time, I also had a food blog Off The Menu. You can find the recipe for that pie crust here. In the background is the Grandpa Joe tree. Yes, the tree has a name. This is because it had once belonged to Grandpa Joe. I still have this tree and I put it up every year. It gets decorated with the many disney ornaments that I have.
