As I have mentioned before, another passion of mine is cooking and baking. I fell in love with cooking back in high school when we had to bring a dish to world history, and I insisted on cooking something myself instead of buying something to bring. I was so proud of myself when I made whatever it is that I chose to bring. Then Alton Brown came on the scene with his show 'Good Eats.' He presented cooking in such a way that I wanted to do it all. Now, there's not a dish out there that I can't tackle. So, back in 2008, I started Off the Menu, my food blog. It was so much fun to come up with recipes, take pictures, and post them so that everyone could enjoy them. Maybe one day I will pick it back up. One year, I came up with the idea to make holiday dishes from different countries. It was fun to do the research and learn about the traditions in other cultures. One of the dishes is one that has made its way onto my permeant rotation. Tonight I will be making a French-Canadian tourtière. This savory, comforting pie is traditionally served at Thanksgiving, Christmas eve, or Christmas day, however there are no hard and fast food rules and this pie is delicious any time of year.

I was unable to find this exact orange Emile Henry pie dish online, however I am going to link a red deep dish orange one that I also have (except mine is red) and love, as well as a few other pie goodies that are on my list.
